The owner wanted the lobby to feel calmer and the guest corridors quieter, without closing the hotel. Working with the interior designer and the fit-out contractor, we specified flooring and acoustic finishes that could be installed in short, scheduled windows.
The brief
Durable, easy-to-clean flooring for corridors with constant luggage traffic; a warmer, more acoustic lobby; and finishes that would match the designer’s palette.
The materials
Flocked flooring planks for the corridors, carpet tiles for the lift lobbies and acoustic luxury vinyl tiles in the lobby lounge. Samples were approved in a mock-up room before the first floor was started.
